Venezuelan singer songwriter and producer Francisco Garrido, who performs as Tzara the Machine, builds music that feels like its own self contained world. Sweet, flowing melodies sit alongside fresh harmonies, and the production layers sampled acoustic instruments with electronic textures to land somewhere colorfully melancholic and hard to pin down. He has described the work as a deliberate protest against the violent social reality of Venezuela, carving out peaceful and playful sonic spaces in response to that weight. Based in Amsterdam since 2020, Garrido draws from artists like Björk, Arca, and Animal Collective, though the result is very much its own thing. The combination of imaginative composition and unconventional production gives Tzara the Machine a sound that feels both organic and deeply textured.
