About
Also known as: Twelve Pound Sledge
Unruly Child are a Los Angeles hard rock and AOR outfit who have been putting out melodic rock since their self titled debut in 1992. The group formed around vocalist Marcie Free, guitarist Bruce Gowdy, and keyboardist Guy Allison, with Gowdy and Allison bringing experience from the progressive rock band World Trade. After a mid career hiatus and some lineup shuffles that saw Foreigner frontman Kelly Hansen step in for a stint, the band regrouped around 2010 and hit a genuinely productive stretch, releasing a string of albums including Worlds Collide, Down the Rabbit Hole, Can't Go Home, Big Blue World, and Our Glass House. That run shows a band that never stopped finding reasons to make music. Marcie Free, who had fronted the group for much of its existence, passed away in October 2025.
