Veronica Maggio has quietly become one of Sweden's most enduring pop acts, racking up four number one albums and 26 top 20 singles since her 2006 debut. Rooted in summery pop with soul and r&b undertones, her sound is often described as light synth layered over retro soul grooves, paired with lyrics that blend melancholy and something close to euphoria. Her album Handen i fickan fast jag bryr mig is one of the longest charting records in Swedish history, clocking over 531 weeks on the charts. Beyond her solo work, she co wrote "Hey Brother" for Avicii in 2013, a reminder that her pen reaches well outside her own catalogue. Her 2011 single "Jag kommer" hit number one in Sweden and became the country's biggest song of that year, while her 2016 fifth album Den första är alltid gratis was praised for its urgent melodies and hook heavy choruses.
