About
Veya is a Haarlem based multi instrumentalist who works across singing, violin, songwriting and production to build something genuinely hard to pin down. Her music sits somewhere between alternative pop, classical textures and modern electronics, shifting from quiet, vulnerable moments to sweeping cinematic peaks carried by strings, soulful rhythms and delicate electronic detail. Artists like AURORA, Hozier and Maggie Rogers give you a rough compass, but Veya has her own unmistakable angle on the territory. She spent close to a decade working as a session musician and songwriter before stepping into the spotlight under her own name. Her debut EP 'Silence in the Storm' explores resilience in difficult times, circling the idea that while you cannot control what life throws at you, you can choose how you respond. Live, she brings that recorded world to life through her instrument collection, live looping and a full band.
