Victony, born Anthony Ebuka Victor in Lagos and rooted in Imo State, Nigeria, built his name through a fluid shift from SoundCloud rap freestyles to a sound that blends afrobeats, R&B, and Afropop. His 2022 EP Outlaw was the real breakthrough, carrying the infectious track Soweto with Tempoe, which blew up on TikTok before landing a remix featuring Rema and Don Toliver that charted across the UK, Netherlands, Switzerland, and Canada. There is also a resilience story woven through his career. After a serious car crash in April 2021 that left him needing surgery and using a wheelchair, he came back and performed live alongside Davido and Mayorkun by December of the same year. His 2024 album Stubborn, a 14 tracker with features from Asake, Saint Jhn, and teezo touchdown among others, arrived to strong critical reception and showed he is not slowing down.
