Vinnie Moore is the kind of guitarist who gets noticed fast. Mike Varney, the man behind Shrapnel Records, spotted him through a demo submission and that connection quickly turned into a Pepsi commercial in 1985 and then a debut album, Mind's Eye, the following year. That record featured Tony MacAlpine on keys, sold over 100,000 copies and picked up awards from guitar magazines. Around the same time, Moore contributed lead guitar to Vicious Rumors' debut, including his own shred showcase 'Invader', clearly in the spirit of Van Halen's 'Eruption'. From there, Moore kept busy across a wide range of hard rock and heavy metal projects. He toured with Alice Cooper and appeared on Hey Stoopid in 1991, then spent 21 years as lead guitarist for UFO, joining in 2003 and recording six studio albums with them before the band called it a day in 2024. Along the way he even shared a stage with Peter Frampton at Musikfest in 2013. A seriously versatile player who works across neoclassical metal and hard rock without ever sounding like he's stuck in one lane.
