About
Wanning Gibbous is the project of Märel Bijveld and Jorn ten Ham, a duo who blend folk rock and pop with a psychedelic edge. Their sound moves between uplifting and catchy on one hand and melancholic or hypnotic on the other, sometimes within the same song. The two share vocal duties, and the harmony between them is something audiences tend to feel as much as hear. Thematically they reach pretty far out: inner life, consciousness, nature, freedom, existence beyond Earth. Heavy territory, but delivered with a lightness that keeps it from feeling like a lecture.
