About
Also known as: WayV, WeiShen V, เวย์วี
WayV is the China based unit of NCT, run through SM's Chinese sub label, Label V. The name stands for "We are your Vision", and the group arrived on January 17, 2019 with the digital EP The Vision, led by a Chinese version of NCT 127's "Regular". It did well straight away: all three tracks landed in the top ten of Billboard World Digital Songs, and the group opened at number four on the Billboard Social 50. The lineup today is Kun, Ten, Xiaojun, Hendery and Yangyang, after Lucas left in May 2023 and Winwin followed later. Early releases like Take Off and Take Over the Moon, with the title track "Moonwalk", built their following, and Hendery and Yangyang got their first lyric credits on that second EP. In 2020 they played their first ever concert as an online show, then released the studio album Awaken the World. They have since picked up trophies including Favorite Asian Artist at the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards.
