About
William Tyler is a Nashville guitarist and composer working across cosmic country, folk, and indie folk, best known for his intricate, largely instrumental style. He spent over a decade in the bands Lambchop and Silver Jews before stepping out on his own, and his 2010 debut Behold the Spirit announced a genuinely distinctive voice. His third solo record, Modern Country, caught the attention of Rolling Stone, which listed it among the best country albums of 2016. Beyond his own records, Tyler produced Jake Xerxes Fussell's debut, contributed to a Mary J. Blige track, and composed the soundtrack for Kelly Reichardt's film First Cow. More recently he teamed up with London electronic producer Four Tet to release 41 Longfield Street Late 80s in 2025.
