About
Winnetoe is a tribute band dedicated to Doe Maar, the Dutch group that swept the country in the early 1980s with a blend of pop, reggae and teenage heartache. A tight circle of friends brought Winnetoe together out of a shared love for nederpop, and their attention to the original sound is the whole point: songs like Sinds 1 Dag Of Twee, De Bom and Smoorverliefd are recreated with care for the details that made them stick. The musicians are young and energetic, which gives familiar material a live charge rather than a museum feel. Winnetoe has performed at festivals including Paaspop, Bevrijdingsfestival and the Vierdaagsefeesten.
