The Württembergische Philharmonie is an orchestra from Reutlingen, working across orchestral, classical, choral and opera repertoire. Under the baton of Sander Teepen, the ensemble has performed Vienna style New Year concerts featuring waltzes, polkas and marches by Johann Strauss Jr., alongside a broader European programme that stretches from Smetana and Bizet to Mascagni, Respighi and Tchaikovsky. That kind of wide ranging programming, mixing Viennese staples with music from across the continent, gives a good sense of the orchestra's versatility and its ease with both popular classical fare and more substantial symphonic works.
