About
Also known as: Young K, 영케이
Young K is the bassist and vocalist of Day6, and he's the one behind a big chunk of the band's songwriting. Outside the band, his rap verse on Baek A yeon's "Shouldn't Have" turned into a sleeper hit that climbed to number one on several Korean real time charts a month after release. He's also popped up as a featured rapper for acts in Thailand and the Philippines, including a remake of "Leaves" with Ben&Ben. He's got a few other things going on too. Alongside Dowoon and Wonpil, he makes up Even of Day, a Day6 sub unit that debuted with "Where the Sea Sleeps". His solo debut came with the EP Eternal and its title track "Guard You", followed by the first studio album Letters with Notes, led by "Nothing But". He's also a radio regular, hosting Kiss The Radio, which earned him Radio DJ of the Year at the 2023 KBS Entertainment Awards. In 2024 he picked up a Ballad Award at the Seoul Music Awards.
