About
Also known as: ZB1, 제로베이스원
Zerobaseone came out of Mnet's survival show Boys Planet, and they wasted no time making noise. Their 2023 debut EP Youth in the Shade, led by the single "In Bloom", sold over two million copies, a record for a K pop debut album, and the follow up Melting Point pushed past two million in its first week alone. That made them the first K pop group to pull that off in their debut year. The name says it all: nine trainees starting from zero and ending as one, shortened to ZB1. They swept the Rookie of the Year awards at Golden Disc, MAMA, Melon and Seoul Music, a run fans call the Rookie Grand Slam. In 2024 they went to Japan too, where their debut single "Yura Yura (Unmei no Hana)" topped the Oricon weekly chart with over 300,000 copies, a first for a foreign act's Japanese debut. Today the group is a five piece, made up of Kim Ji woong, Sung Han bin, Seok Matthew, Kim Tae rae and Park Gun wook.
