About
Also known as: Zoë Wees
Zoe Wees built her name on raw emotional honesty, and her breakthrough single 'Control' made that very clear. Released in 2020, the song is a direct account of her experience with benign rolandic epilepsy, channelling the feelings of helplessness and loss of control that came with it into something that resonated across Europe, reaching number one on French radio and cracking the top ten in Belgium. Her voice is genuinely striking, capable of moving from low and raspy to full on powerful in a way that suits the emotional weight of her writing. Her debut EP 'Golden Wings', out in 2021 via Capitol Records, expanded on that vulnerability. The single 'Ghost' tackled the tension of letting someone in despite knowing they could hurt you. Wees cites Jessie J and Lewis Capaldi as key influences, and you can hear traces of both in her pop soul approach. In January 2025 she returned with 'Traitor', her first new solo material in two years.
