Doornroosje in Nijmegen was founded in 1970 as a creative activities center in a squatted school building, initially serving as a gathering place for hippies. The venue became known as one of the first places in the Netherlands where cannabis was openly available. It programmed many bands, often before they achieved wider recognition.
About Laibach
Few bands have courted controversy as deliberately or as cleverly as Laibach. Formed in 1980 in the Slovenian mining town of Trbovlje, they built their identity around provocative pastiches of totalitarian imagery, nationalism and militarism, getting themselves banned in Yugoslavia before they'd even released a record.
