Doornroosje in Nijmegen was founded in 1970 as a creative activities center in a squatted school building, initially serving as a gathering place for hippies. The venue became known as one of the first places in the Netherlands where cannabis was openly available. It programmed many bands, often before they achieved wider recognition.
About Longo Longo
Longo Longo is a Dutch collective that packs thirteen musicians onto the stage, and the sound they make is a three way mix: Afrikaans rhythms, a Cuban pulse and a streak of Dutch psychedelia. The Cuban side runs deep. The band is rooted in Cuban tradition, and its two lead singers grew up in Cuba.
