Paard is a cultural and social venue in The Hague that opened on October 21, 1972, originally named Paard van Troje. Established as a youth center by activists with support from local government and the youth project Ruimte, it was housed in a former girls' boarding school on Prinsegracht. The venue served as a meeting place for The Hague's young people, offering support and advice alongside cultural programming and community engagement through visitor councils.
About THE SMITHSONICS
The Smithsonics are a Dutch cover band from The Hague dedicated to the music of The Smiths. They specialise in recreating the sound of the beloved Manchester outfit, bringing the songs of Morrissey and Marr to audiences at new wave themed events across the Netherlands.
