Patio – Summer Closing

LOFI is a club and event space in Amsterdam's Sloterdijk district, occupying a former municipal bus garage that once belonged to public transport operator GVB. The building on Basisweg 63 was converted into a cultural venue and opened on 17 October 2023, launching with a ZeeZout warehouse party during Amsterdam Dance Event. The transformation preserved the industrial character of the original structure, giving the space its raw concrete aesthetic and a distinctly utilitarian atmosphere that sets it apart from the city's more polished clubs. The venue consists of two main areas: an indoor warehouse hall equipped with professional sound facilities, and an outdoor courtyard that allows for a different, more informal scale of gathering. This flexibility means the programming ranges from large indoor raves to film screenings, school and student events, presentations and smaller community meetups. Electronic music, particularly house and techno, forms the backbone of the concert and club calendar, though the courtyard lends itself to events that would feel out of place in a pure warehouse setting. LOFI was explicitly conceived as an attempt to reinvigorate what its founders describe as Amsterdam's free spirited night culture. The venue enforces an inclusive door policy, requiring visitors to be open toward others regardless of origin, gender, sexual orientation, religion or age, and it maintains a dedicated awareness contact for anyone who experiences or witnesses harassment. That combination of industrial scale, varied programming across concerts, raves and cultural events, and a stated commitment to a welcoming atmosphere has quickly established LOFI as a notable addition to the west of the city.
