About
Finnish heavy metal act Amoral spent two decades carving out a reputation that refused to stay in one lane. Formed in Helsinki in 1997, they spent their first years deep in death metal territory, earning their stripes through relentless touring across Europe, Japan, China, the Philippines and the US. Their first two albums drew solid praise from the metal press, and a European run alongside Finntroll and Naglfar cemented their place in the underground. The real turning point came with 2009's Show Your Colors, which swapped growled vocals for clean singing and big choruses, landing them on Finnish national radio and a top five finish at the Finnish Metal Awards. The follow up Beneath pushed further in that direction, blending nine minute epics with punk leaning rockers and even acoustic arrangements. After seven studio albums and twenty years together, Amoral called it a day in 2017.
