About
Omnium Gatherum have been flying the flag for Finnish melodic death metal since 1996, drawing on the Gothenburg sound of At the Gates and In Flames while weaving in progressive metal threads that grow more prominent with each record. Founded in Karhula, the band built their reputation through relentless touring and a string of albums that kept pushing the genre forward. Dan Swanö, who mixed their fourth album The Redshift, put it bluntly: he hated them because they were so good he considered stealing the record and releasing it as his own. Their fifth album New World Shadows went even further, topping the Finnish charts and landing on the national top five. A decade of lineup shifts never slowed their output, and 2021 brought their ninth studio album Origin. Their tenth, May the Bridges We Burn Light the Way, arrived in 2025.
