Tribute Night: Wegsfeer (New Wave)

Astrant is a cultural venue in Ede, Gelderland, that operates as a concert space, community hub and talent development centre under one roof. Its main concert hall covers just over 100 square metres, holds up to 150 people, and is built around a 6 by 4 metre stage, a six metre bar, and a full audiovisual setup with projection screen and on site technicians. Beyond the main hall, the venue also has a café and a terrace garden, giving it the feel of a local gathering point rather than a purely functional event space. Astrant is recognised by the Dutch music industry association VNPF as part of the national network of music venues, and has also been involved in the Bevrijdingsfestival Gelderland, placing it within the broader Dutch festival circuit. The programming at Astrant leans heavily toward underground and alternative music, with a particular concentration on metal, punk and heavier rock. Regular events include EP and album release shows, such as the Shitman Desire release show and the Heiderock Release Show featuring multiple local and regional acts on the same bill. Bands such as Wyatt E., Hemelbestormer, Storm Seeker, Furor Gallico, and Dirty Sound Magnet have all played the venue, alongside tribute acts and international touring bands passing through Gelderland. The venue also runs JamNights and a talent support programme called Sterrenstof, offers rehearsal rooms and a studio operated in partnership with Bright Blend Studios, and works with volunteers, making it as much a community infrastructure project as a live music stage.
