The AC/DC concert on September 16 at Rogers Stadium in Toronto has been cancelled after a severe storm caused major damage to the stadium.

AC/DC will not be able to perform on September 16 at Rogers Stadium in Toronto. The concert, which was part of the Australian hard rock legends' two year Power Up tour, has been cancelled after the stadium suffered severe damage during an exceptionally violent storm last week. Rogers Stadium announced the news on September 9 via social media.
The storm hit on September 2 and has been described as a so called microburst, a sudden and devastating wind gust accompanied by heavy rainfall. Meteorologist Kevin Mahoney, who works at Rogers Stadium as an on site meteorologist and is affiliated with the DTN team, stated that it was a once in a hundred year storm for Toronto. Large sections of seating in the 50,000 capacity stadium were knocked over, twisted and torn loose. Engineers, working together with the City of Toronto, carried out a thorough inspection which concluded that the affected sections need to be completely demolished and rebuilt.
The stadium stated in a press release that every possible alternative was explored to keep the concert in Toronto, but that no replacement venue could be found large enough to accommodate all fans. Wayne Zronik, president of business operations at Live Nation Canada, emphasized that safety always comes first. "Canceling a concert is never a decision we want to make, and we know how disappointing this will be for all of us who have been looking forward to seeing AC/DC close out our summer season," said Zronik. "Safety has to come first."
Fans who purchased their tickets through Ticketmaster will automatically receive a full refund to their original payment method. Those who bought tickets through the resale market are advised to contact the relevant seller.
The cancelled Toronto show was the third to last concert of the Power Up tour, which kicked off in May 2024 and includes 90 concerts in total. Three shows remain on the schedule: the band plays in Montreal at Parc Jean Drapeau on September 12, MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey follows on September 25, and the tour wraps up on September 29 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The band has not yet commented on any future plans after the tour comes to an end.
