About
Few artists have made an entrance quite like Ado. Released the day before her 18th birthday, her debut single 'Usseewa' shot to number one on the Billboard Japan Hot 100, the Oricon Digital Singles Chart, and the Oricon Streaming Chart, clocking 100 million plays in 17 weeks and making her the youngest solo artist ever to hit that milestone on the Billboard Japan Streaming Songs chart. What makes her story particularly striking is that she keeps her face hidden, performing and releasing music entirely without revealing her identity, a tradition rooted in her early days as an utaite cover singer on Niconico. Her momentum only built from there. In 2022 she voiced the character Uta in One Piece Film: Red, and the theme song 'New Genesis' became the first Japanese song to top Apple Music's Global Top 100 chart. The accompanying soundtrack album turned into a global chart phenomenon, with Ado occupying the top three spots on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 simultaneously. Her Hibana World Tour has since been recognised as the largest global tour ever mounted by a Japanese artist.
