About
Alesana built their reputation on ambitious concept albums that pull from Greek mythology and gothic storytelling, a bold move for a post hardcore band out of Raleigh, North Carolina. Their debut full length, On Frail Wings of Vanity and Wax, mixed pop, punk, metal and classic rock into something that caught fire in the underground scene, eventually landing them on Fearless Records and cracking the Billboard Heatseekers chart. The follow up, Where Myth Fades to Legend, pushed even further, landing at number 96 on the Billboard 200 and featuring a wild cover of Justin Timberlake's "What Goes Around...Comes Around" on the Punk Goes Pop 2 compilation. Their third album, The Emptiness, recorded in Portland with producer Kris Crummett, leaned into dark, theatrical territory. The band blends clean vocals and screamed parts to striking effect, a dynamic they have sharpened across five full length studio albums and three EPs.
