About
Also known as: Alexis on Fire, AoF
Few Canadian bands hit as hard across as many registers as Alexisonfire. The St. Catharines post hardcore five piece built their reputation on a collision of throat shredding screams and cleaner melodic vocals, a contrast that runs through everything from their breakout single "Pulmonary Archery" to their third album Crisis, which landed at number one on the Canadian Albums Chart in 2006. All of their albums have gone gold or platinum in Canada, and at their peak they were playing to crowds of 80,000 at Reading and Leeds. After calling it a day in 2011, they reformed and eventually returned with Otherness in 2022, their first full length record in over a decade. The album showed them pushing their signature sound into new territory without abandoning what made them essential in the first place. More recently they have kept the momentum going, with the 2025 release of "Neighbourhood Villain" suggesting the band has no interest in coasting on past glories.
