About
Alice Merton built her name on the strength of one song that captured a very specific feeling. "No Roots", written from her experience of never quite belonging anywhere, hit number one on Spotify's Global Viral 50 and US alternative radio charts, and turned this British based German Canadian singer songwriter into an overnight name worth remembering. She and her manager co founded their own label, Paper Plane Records International, to put it out themselves. Since then she has kept busy across a few different fronts. Her debut album Mint arrived in 2019, followed by the more ambitious S.I.D.E.S. in 2022, which she toured across Europe and supported by opening for Bastille in the US. She also proved herself as a talent spotter when she coached her act to victory on The Voice of Germany, the first female coach to win the show. Her 2024 EP Heron showed a more stripped back side, and she has been collaborating with Bastille's Dan Smith on newer material.
