About
Merit Visser has worn a few different musical hats: she put out work as pop singer LIJO and founded the indie band Ilen Mer before settling into something more personal under the name AMIMEA. The project puts the piano right at the centre, the instrument that sits at the core of her passion for music. Her debut album FOR GRANTED came together in a single day, written during the 2020 lockdown as a way to cut through the noise and the strange suffocating quiet of that period. The result is a record that feels immediate and unguarded, shaped by the particular urgency of that moment.
