About
Also known as: Aqua Times
Aqua Timez built their name on a string of high profile anime and film tie ins that put their sound in front of massive audiences. The Tokyo rock band contributed theme songs to both the animated film Brave Story and Bleach: Memories of Nobody in 2006, and later landed the opening theme for the sixth season of the Bleach TV series with 'ALONES'. That kind of exposure pushed them onto Epic Records Japan and kick started a prolific run of releases spanning nearly two decades, including 8 albums and 19 singles. They called it quits in May 2018 after a farewell concert tour, but the story didn't end there. In July 2024 the band announced a reunion tied to their 20th anniversary, with plans to return to activity in 2025, including new music and a live show. For fans of melodic J pop with a rock edge and an ear for a big anime moment, Aqua Timez remains one of the more distinctive acts to come out of Tokyo's 2000s scene.
