About
Ava Bahari has built a reputation that spans intimate chamber music and large scale orchestral work. She served as artist in residence with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, and The Strad has described her as a remarkably emerging talent. Born in Sweden, she plays a 1694 Stradivarius made in Cremona, and her programmes reflect a genuine curiosity about pairing the familiar with the overlooked. Composers like Poulenc, Mozart and Sarasate sit alongside less frequently heard figures such as Elfrida Andrée and Boris Blacher in her carefully shaped set lists. Swedish composer Anders Hillborg has written new work specifically for her. Bahari's concerts run without a break, designed as a single continuous arc of tension, and she is particularly drawn to the interplay between contrasting pieces and the beauty of musical collaboration.
