About
Battlesnake are a Sydney heavy metal band with a thing for wizards, dragons, and tongue in cheek epic storytelling set to riffs that nod hard at Judas Priest, Queen and AC/DC. Formed in 2017 with the unusual aim of being a three guitar rock band, they blend hard rock, progressive metal and full on fantasy world building, complete with extravagant costumes and high energy live shows. They supported KISS in Sydney and later opened for The Smashing Pumpkins and Jane's Addiction on the Australian leg of The World Is A Vampire tour, which is not a bad run for a band still finding its footing. Their second album, The Rise and Demise of the Motorsteeple, dropped in June 2024 after being recorded in just ten days, and the band has since been putting in serious mileage on the international circuit, playing the UK, Europe and beyond. Most recently they released "I Killed Satan" in 2026, keeping the fantasy metal flag flying with no signs of slowing down.
