About
Benjamin Goodson has built a reputation as one of the more compelling choral conductors of his generation, leading the Netherlands Radio Choir since 2020 and teaching choral conducting at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. His 2023 recording of Rheinberger and Mendelssohn choral works with the Netherlands Radio Choir on Pentatone earned five stars from BBC Music Magazine, and his most recent release, The Voice of the Beloved, brings together music by Frank Martin, Jean Yves Daniel Lesur and Olivier Messiaen. From 2028 he will take the helm of the SWR Vokalensemble as Chief Conductor and artistic director, a move that signals where his career is heading. His discography also includes Songs of Renewal with Bath Camerata and conducting work on a Pēteris Vasks recording featuring the haunting Plainscapes.
