About
Benjamin Steer writes songs that feel like they were pulled straight from a journal, earnest, emotionally direct, and built around big hooks. The English, American, and Belgian singer songwriter picked up the guitar only a few years ago while studying economics at St Andrews, which makes the speed of his rise genuinely striking. His breakthrough single 'Be My Love' captures his style well: an intense, sweeping track about longing, love, and the search for something that actually matters. Songs like 'No One Wants To Die Alone', 'Miracle', and 'Sinner' tackle identity, mental pressure, and the particular anxieties of Gen Z with a maturity that surprises first time listeners. He has built an audience of around 1.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify, drawn in by lyrics that feel honest rather than performed. For Steer, the whole point of making music is connection, not just entertainment.
