About
Also known as: Chance Alexander Peña, Chance Pena
Chance Peña got his foot in the door as a songwriter before most people knew his name. His ballad "Up, Up & Away" landed in the film Five Feet Apart, and he later co wrote John Legend's "Conversations in the Dark", which brought him a Grammy nomination. He's an artist, songwriter and producer from East Texas, and he signed a publishing deal with Secret Road Music Publishing at 17. As a performer he leans into warm, earthy indie folk with a gravelly voice and a traditional storytelling streak, mixed with modern sounds. His debut album Ever Shifting, Continual Blossoming came out in 2024, followed by When I Change My Mind I Don't Mean It on Columbia Records, a 14 track record written in a remote California cabin. He's teamed up with Kygo and Julia Michaels on "Louder" and with Sam Barber on "Better Than the Floor", and has toured alongside The Lumineers and Tom Odell.
