About
Bent Van Looy is probably best known as the frontman of Belgian band Das Pop, which he co founded in Ghent back in 1994. The band put out four albums over about a decade, with their self titled 2009 record and The Game in 2011 marking their most mature work before they called it a day in late 2012. He also spent time behind the drum kit for Soulwax, touring across Europe with the Dewaele brothers' legendary Soulwaxmas events through arenas and iconic venues. Since going solo, Van Looy has built a steady body of work with producer Jason Falkner in Los Angeles, releasing Round the Bend in 2013, Pyjama Days in 2016, and Yours Truly in 2018. Beyond music, he has designed clothing, painted, and turned up on Belgian television as a coach on The Voice van Vlaanderen and as co presenter of the cultural talk show Culture Club. A genuinely restless creative, he keeps moving between disciplines without it feeling like a gimmick.
