About
Beta Radio is a two piece out of Wilmington, North Carolina, built around the interplay of Ben Mabry and Brent Holloman. Their sound pulls from folk, Americana, chamber pop and indie folk, and they have a knack for making music that feels both intimate and carefully crafted. Their debut Seven Sisters was cobbled together from studio sessions and bedroom recordings made with borrowed equipment, and it found its audience largely through Spotify and Pandora. The follow up Colony of Bees went bigger, bringing in composer and violinist Rob Moose, who has worked with Sufjan Stevens, Bon Iver and Arcade Fire, and the Huffington Post named it one of the best albums of 2014. Their 2018 album Ancient Transition marked a new chapter as their first release on Nettwerk Music Group, and 2021 brought Year of Love, featuring The National drummer Bryan Devendorf and former Bon Iver member CJ Camerieri.
