Better Than Ezra formed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1988 and built their name on the multi-platinum album Deluxe and the single "Good", which hit number 1 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart. Now based in New Orleans and signed with Round Hill Music, the four-piece — Kevin Griffin on vocals and guitar, Tom Drummond on bass, Michael Jerome on drums, and James Arthur Payne Jr. on guitar and keyboards — have released nine studio albums, with Super Magick arriving in 2024.
