Bex Marshall plays a Fender acoustic steel top resonator guitar with a slide technique that critics have compared to Bonnie Raitt, and that comparison is not thrown around lightly. The North London based British blues songwriter has been building a reputation on the live circuit since the early 2000s, honing a sound that draws on Americana and blues rock with Raitt, Janis Joplin and Tina Turner among her stated touchstones. She won the Best British Blues Vocalist poll at the UK Blues Awards in 2013 and holds the distinction of being the only woman invited to play the Cork International Guitar Festival. Her catalogue includes Kitchen Table, The House of Mercy, and Fortuna, released in 2024, keeping her discography firmly active after a long stretch on stages across the UK, Russia and beyond.
