Few artists have reshaped pop as quickly or as distinctively as Billie Eilish. Working almost entirely with her brother FINNEAS, she built a sound rooted in whispery intimacy and dark, maximalist production that sits somewhere between electropop, bedroom pop, and alternative R&B. Her 2019 debut When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? became one of the best selling records of that year, driven by the billion stream juggernaut Bad Guy, which knocked Old Town Road off the top of the Billboard Hot 100 after 19 weeks. She swept the four main Grammy categories that year, and remains the youngest artist to have done so. Since then she has kept the momentum going across very different projects, from the James Bond theme No Time to Die to What Was I Made For? for the Barbie soundtrack, both of which won Oscars and Grammys. Her second album Happier Than Ever pulled back the playfulness in favour of something more introspective and critically praised. In 2024 she released her third album Hit Me Hard and Soft, and performed Wildflower as part of a live session for Amazon Music.
