About
Boxin' the Fox is a Dutch folk duo made up of David Plasmeijer and Anne Lotte Paymans, built around two voices singing in harmony and a real love of Irish music. Their sound draws on Irish folk names like Luka Bloom, Christy Moore, Mary Black, Sinéad O'Connor, The Dubliners, The Fureys and The Pogues. The influences don't stop at Ireland, though. They also cite sixties and seventies artists such as Melanie, Simon & Garfunkel and Boudewijn de Groot, along with more recent acts like The Cranberries, Dolores O'Riordan, Amy Macdonald and KT Tunstall. They've played a string of Irish festivals in the Netherlands and taken their songs on the road to Ireland, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Sweden, and Normandy and Brittany in France.
