Carmen Villain is the Norwegian Mexican artist behind a run of albums that started with guitar driven shoegaze and dream pop. She began writing music after moving to London in 2005, and that early sound set the tone for what came next. Before music became her main thing, she also worked as a model. Her discography stretches across Sleeper in 2013, Infinite Avenue in 2017, Both Lines Will Be Blue in 2019 and Only Love From Now On in 2022, the last of which got a warm critical reception. She plays piano and clarinet, which gives her a broader toolkit than your average guitar person. A new album, Memoria, is on the way, so there is plenty to catch up on if you are only just finding her.
