About
Also known as: Cate Timothy
Cate Le Bon sings in both English and Welsh, and she is as respected behind the mixing desk as she is in front of the microphone. She has produced records for Deerhunter, Wilco, John Grant, Dry Cleaning, Horsegirl, Devendra Banhart and Kurt Vile, and she played bass and added production on St. Vincent's All Born Screaming. Her own run of albums includes Mug Museum, Crab Day, Reward, which was nominated for the Mercury Prize, and Pompeii, which she started writing in Wales during the first wave of the pandemic. She also made two albums as DRINKS with her then partner Tim Presley, Hermits on Holiday and Hippo Lite. Her seventh solo record, Michelangelo Dying, came out in September 2025 and was shaped by her break up with Presley. A stand alone single from the same sessions, Always the Same, features St. Vincent. Her stage name, fittingly, is a nod to Simon Le Bon.
