Paard is a cultural and social venue in The Hague that opened on October 21, 1972, originally named Paard van Troje. Established as a youth center by activists with support from local government and the youth project Ruimte, it was housed in a former girls' boarding school on Prinsegracht. The venue served as a meeting place for The Hague's young people, offering support and advice alongside cultural programming and community engagement through visitor councils.
About Paula Cole
Paula Cole went from stepping into Sinéad O'Connor's shoes on Peter Gabriel's Secret World Tour to winning the Grammy for Best New Artist in 1998. She only had one rehearsal before walking out in front of 16,000 people, and she ended up singing the Kate Bush part on "Don't Give Up" on the live album and video.
