Charlotte Perrelli is probably best known as one of Sweden's rare double winners at Melodifestivalen, taking the crown in 1999 as Charlotte Nilsson with "Take Me to Your Heaven" and winning again in 2008 with "Hero", which topped the Swedish charts and became the best selling single by a Swedish artist that year. Both wins sent her to Eurovision, where she triumphed in Jerusalem in 1999 to become the fourth Swedish act ever to win the contest. Her 2008 album Hero went platinum in Sweden. What makes her career genuinely interesting is its range. She cut her teeth in dansband circles before shifting into pop, and over seven solo albums she has moved through schlager, disco, modern pop, soulful ballads and jazz. Her 2006 album I din röst was a tribute to jazz legend Monica Zetterlund, featuring covers of Zetterlund's best loved songs alongside an original title track Perrelli wrote herself. She has also worked as a TV host and has been a fixture at Sweden's biggest live events.
