Few artists have made reverb sound as hauntingly romantic as Chris Isaak. Built around his wide vocal range and a rockabilly revivalist style that draws comparisons to Roy Orbison and Elvis Presley, his music sits somewhere between aching pop and classic rock and roll. His signature song "Wicked Game" spent years in the making before landing on the 1989 album Heart Shaped World, and only became a national top 10 hit after a David Lynch obsessed Atlanta radio director pushed it to stations across the country. The black and white music video, directed by Herb Ritts and featuring supermodel Helena Christensen, became an MTV staple. Isaak has stayed in heavy rotation with directors as well as radio programmers. Lynch has woven his music into multiple films, and tracks have appeared in True Romance, Eyes Wide Shut, and Chasing Liberty among others. Beyond music, he has taken on acting roles in The Silence of the Lambs, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, and That Thing You Do!, and fronted his own sitcom, The Chris Isaak Show. Across 13 studio albums and decades of touring with his band Silvertone, he has kept that signature sound remarkably consistent.
