About

Also known as: Christone Ingram

Christone "Kingfish" Ingram grew up in Clarksdale, Mississippi, the birthplace of the blues, and by his teens he was already turning heads at local spots like Red's Lounge and the Ground Zero Blues Club. His debut album, Kingfish, dropped on Alligator Records in 2019, hit number one on the Billboard Blues Chart, and earned a Grammy nomination for Best Traditional Blues Album. Tom Hambridge produced it at Ocean Way Studio in Nashville, and critics couldn't get enough: NPR's Tom Moon described his playing as "almost like he's singing through the guitar." What sets Ingram apart is how he carries serious blues tradition without sounding like a museum piece. He's recorded alongside Buddy Guy and Eric Gales, shared stages with the Tedeschi Trucks Band and Samantha Fish, and even performed at the White House as part of the Delta Blues Museum band. The nickname Kingfish, borrowed from a classic sitcom character, suits him well. There's something timeless about the way he plays, and he's still only in his mid twenties.
