About
Clarion are a Los Angeles shoegaze trio whose debut single "Hello Juliet" spread fast through TikTok anime edits and corecore videos, eventually landing them a deal with Broke Records. The song, written by guitarist Anthony Sanchez after losing a close friend, became the centrepiece of their self titled EP, recorded in just three days. Their sound pulls from shoegaze, post punk, grunge, and Japanese rock, with layered amps panned in stereo to conjure the feel of two guitarists at once. Anime and manga run deep through their lyrics too: tracks on their second EP Blue Fairy draw from Chobits, Goodnight Punpun, and Nisekoi, with the band citing everyone from Sonic Youth and Dinosaur Jr. to The Pillows and Asian Kung Fu Generation as touchstones. Blue Fairy arrived in 2026 and showed a band with a very clear sense of what they are after.
