Club Donder : Dear omen / Silent Runners

About

Dear Omen is a three piece gothic rock band from Amsterdam whose sound is built on heavy bass lines, punishing drum rhythms and unsettling organ textures. Their live shows carry a theatrical, extravagant energy that blends an explosive and dark sonic palette with a streak of romanticism and determination. That combination earned them a spot as a favourite of 3voor12 during the Popronde. Sharing the bill is Silent Runners, a five piece who shook up the underground scene in 2015. Their music draws on dark synth tones and post punk influences, anchored by minimal guitar work, deep bass riffs and driving drumbeats that shift between a near krautrock groove and full on bombastic territory. Classic synthesizers and a reverb drenched vocal complete the picture, making their sets feel both immersive and strangely hypnotic.
