About
Also known as: C.N. Blue, C.N.BLUE, Code Name Blue, 씨엔블루
CNBLUE won their first music show trophy just 15 days after debuting in Korea with "I'm a Loner", a record for the fastest win on the country's music programs. That kind of start set the tone for a band that plays pop rock with real instruments in a scene full of polished idol acts. Jung Yong hwa leads on vocals, guitar and keyboard, with Kang Min hyuk on drums and Lee Jung shin on bass. The odd part is that they got going in Japan first, playing outside Shinjuku Station and in live clubs before their formal debut in 2009 with an all English EP. They then conquered Korea in 2010, picked up a triple crown of music show wins with "Intuition" in 2011, and made a major Japanese debut under Warner Music Japan the same year. Along the way the members also took on acting roles, including the drama Heartstrings, where Jung Yong hwa sang several of the soundtrack songs. The name stands for Code Name BLUE, with BLUE spelling out burning, lovely, untouchable and emotional.
