About
Coming on Strong is a Dutch rock band from The Hague with a deep personal connection to Golden Earring, the band they honour in their show Onze Earring. Rather than going for straight imitation, they treat the material with genuine reverence, playing it live and full tilt. The lineup includes vocalist Martin van der Starre, guitarists Ron Knoester and Bas Knoester, drummer Dennis van Hoorn, and bassist Dave Bordeaux, with sound handled by Frank Winkelman, who worked as Golden Earring's sound engineer for a decade. They finished third in The Tribute: Battle of the Bands. Their setlist stretches across the Golden Earring catalogue, from early tracks like Just A Little Bit Of Peace In My Heart and She Flies On Strange Wings to well known hits like Radar Love, When The Lady Smiles, and Another 45 Miles, with the audience getting a say in what makes the final cut each night.
