Cristóvam is one of Portugal's most recognised voices in indie folk, a singer songwriter whose work blends melancholy and warmth in equal measure. His album Desert of Fools features a duet with Australian band Boy & Bear, which gives a sense of the company he keeps and the calibre of his songwriting. He performs as part of a format called The Songwriters In The Round, where instead of taking turns, multiple artists share the stage for an entire evening together. It is the kind of setting that suits his music well: intimate, unhurried, and built around the song.
